David Fulford is a photographer and artist based in West Yorkshire. He teaches photography and darkroom practice, and founded Holmfirth Photosocial, a community-led group for people who would rather talk about photographs than cameras.

His personal work runs in two directions: considered studio work, and a looser walking practice that takes a dry look at the edgelands. Both come from the same instinct: set up the conditions, get out of the way, and see what happens. That “I wonder what would happen if…” approach has also taken him into sound, electronics, fabrication and print.

He runs Black Hill Creative, offering design, photography and websites for artists and creative businesses.
