David Fulford is a photographer, designer, and artist based in West Yorkshire. His personal work explores themes of individuality and narrative through intimate portraiture, documentary/still-life, and performative studio-based studies. He aims to capture the authentic character of his subjects and their surroundings – often set against the textured, edgeland landscapes of northern England.
David maintains a playful, exploratory approach that has led to self-initiated experiments across creative technologies including web design, sound, electronics, fabrication, and print media. His work reflects a continuing interest in the intersection between people, place, and process. In parallel with self-directed work, his commercial practice provides a supporting role to artists, creative enterprises and restaurants – trading as Black Hill Creative. This work includes design, photography, web design, and consultation across a range of creative projects.
